It’s here! iWorkplace Records Manager 3!

Information Leadership is proud to announce that iWorkplace Records Manager 3 (RM3) available now!

RM3 is a unique content management tool that does so much more than just retention and disposal. Features include:

  • Manage content – tidy-up and manage content from file shares, legacy EDRMS and feral SharePoint sites
  • Set up views – see in seconds how content is organised and identify any metadata discrepancies
  • Find content by file size and number of versions – so that you can manage your storage costs
  • User adoption – see in seconds what documents, photos, and emails teams and individuals are adding to SharePoint
  • Group, filter and sort content across the entire server - enjoy full server-wide visibility
  • Flexible and powerful R & D tools - full reporting and appraisal tools, transaction logs and deleted item metadata list

Affordable – RM3 is licensed by the number of records in your system, so your costs start low and stay linked to the scale of your implementation. We have already started installs for organisations who want to move to RM3 – this includes both users of RM2 and new users of recordkeeping tools in SharePoint.

SharePoint Triple Roadshows an overwhelming success!

Early this month we ran free sessions around NZ and we were overwhelmed with the number of attendees at all sessions. There were many “WOW” moments that had people sitting forward in their seats! Some short highlights on the 3 sessions:

SP 2013

  • Fantastic improvements in search capabilities and management of images/videos
  • Ability to move 2010 content and features to 2013 platform with no visible changes to users

Reining in the chaos

  • The Nike™ (“just do it”) approach to implementing SharePoint does not work!
  • Real need for a roadmap and structured approach.
  • Information architecture – need to avoid the pitfalls of the Soduku like proposition of deciding which SharePoint assets to use and how through:
    • Focussing on what the audiences of the content needs and evaluating the various approaches to find the best fit
    • Separating the content from the design of the site by create design patterns that can be re-used.

New tools and thinking

  • Use of mobile based apps to save the documents and photos created on your mobile device directly into SharePoint.
  • Records Manager 3 – more than a retention & disposal tool now includes:
    • Easy to configure library and content monitoring and analysis tool
    • Ability to carry out actions to content and carry out global workflow

Ian Morrish’s Gold Mine of SharePoint Information: http://www.wssdemo.com/

This site has been going for many years and now attracts 2,000 users per day from around the world! New products, uses of SharePoint, traps, and examples of these – it’s all here. It’s the depth and breadth of Ian’s knowledge that makes him ideal for server and solution “health checks”, and scoping out some of the more unusual requests we regularly receive.

ALGIM Web Symposium

Information Leadership were invite by ALGIM to speak at this year's Web Symposium. Sarah Heal delivered the presentation to an appreciative audience on:

"Intranet: Time for high usefulness?"

Building a transforming strategy and knowing where you need to target your efforts and influence to get change. Many intranets are the play toys of the Marketing, Executive and Communication groups or have gone wild west. Most of the money goes on "look and feel", leaving staff floundering on the lack of usefulness of it. This paper gives you a strategy for positioning how you spend your time, money and influence to get a "high usefulness" platform that gets used and loved.

It covered five key battlegrounds to focus your efforts and get the maximum value from your limited budget including:

  • Ways of delivering look and feel that don't break the bank.
  • Gaining cohesion between key stakeholders wanting different outcomes from the intranet.
  • How 'intranet' can become embedded 'intranet functionality' in a ECM approach.
  • Stories from getting it right and wrong.

    Knowledge Transfer

“The key advantage of working with Information Leadership is their ability to transfer knowledge to staff and to use internal staff skills.

There is almost an expectation that your staff will learn and carry on. This is good because some vendors just come in, do their bit and walk away. The knowledge transfer is the key thing that Information Leadership does. It is a key point of difference.”

    Sam Fitzgerald,
    Client Services Manager
    Open Polytechnic
